A sample report. Yours fills in with your child's own result.
NAPLAN (the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy) is a yearly check of reading, writing, language conventions and numeracy for students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 across Australia. It is your child’s first NAPLAN.
NAPLAN is not a pass or fail test. It is a snapshot that helps teachers and families see how a child is going. Year 3 students do the Writing test on paper and the other three tests online.
ACARA, which runs NAPLAN, says students are not expected to study for it and does not recommend excessive practice. What helps is familiarity: knowing how the online tests look and work, so test day feels calm.

Schools get the results first; your school then gives you your child’s individual student report, usually early in Term 3. The expected standard rises each year, so the same level in two different years still shows progress.
Give your child access to the full NAPLAN 3 practice package, with 30 practice papers, detailed reports and worked explanations.
NAPLAN runs to the same rhythm every year:
NAPLAN 2027: Wednesday 10 to Monday 22 March 2027, in the order Writing, Reading, Conventions of Language, then Numeracy. If your child is away, the school can run a catch-up test within the window. Dates change every year — check the current window on nap.edu.au.
