How we collect, use and protect your personal information — including children's information.
Last updated: 13 June 2026
Test Magic ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). It applies to the Test Magic website and online practice platform (the "Service").
Test Magic is designed to be set up and managed by a parent, guardian or responsible adult. We collect only limited information about children (such as a first name, year level and practice results) so the platform can work and show progress. We do not require a child's email and we do not knowingly use children's information for advertising. A parent or guardian can view, correct or delete a child's information at any time through the account, or by contacting us.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run the Service, and only as needed, including:
We may also disclose information if required by law. Some of these providers may store data outside Australia; where they do, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the APPs.
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access — including encrypted connections, access controls and secure providers. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and will act promptly if an issue arises.
We send service-related emails that are part of using the Service. Any optional marketing or tips emails are sent only where you have opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in those emails or in your account settings.
You can view and update most of your information directly in your account settings. You can also ask us to access, correct or delete your (or your child's) personal information, or to close your account, by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable time.
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, meet legal and accounting obligations, and resolve disputes. When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the date above.
If you have a question or concern about your privacy, or would like to make a complaint, please contact us via our contact page. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
